Bitcoin enters the week hovering around $78,000 after a sharp rally, with prediction market traders pricing a wide range of possible Friday outcomes.

## Quick Brief

Bitcoin enters the week in the neighborhood of $78,000 after a sharp rally pushed the cryptocurrency more than 20% higher over the past week.

Traders are now nearly split on where Bitcoin will stand by Friday afternoon. Kalshi's market gives BTC a 47% chance of being at or above $78,000 at Friday's 5 p.m. settlement, while the neighboring $77,500 and $78,500 thresholds trade at 56% and 50%, respectively.

As last week's volatility demonstrated, early-week expectations can quickly shift.

## The Big Picture

Bitcoin climbed from the low-$60,000s last week to briefly top $79K before settling into the upper-$70,000s.

The rally accelerated after the U.S. Treasury announced plans to double the size of liquidity-support buybacks for longer-dated Treasury securities. Long-term Treasury yields fell sharply following the announcement, while the dollar weakened as markets reassessed liquidity and financial conditions.

Several additional forces helped amplify Bitcoin's move.

A wave of short covering added buying pressure as traders betting against Bitcoin were forced out of their positions. Demand also returned to U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, which recorded more than $517 million in net inflows Wednesday, their largest daily inflow since early May.

Bitcoin ultimately gained more than 20% for the week and reached approximately $79,455 on Friday before pulling back. It remained around $77,000 to $78,000 Monday morning.

## Reading the Market

Traders give Bitcoin a 56% probability of finishing Friday at or above $77,500, with the $78,000 and $78,500 thresholds currently trading at 47% and 50%, respectively.

The three thresholds are active to begin the week as traders weigh what comes next after last week's sharp rally.

The tightly grouped probabilities reflect an unsettled outlook around Bitcoin's current price rather than a clear consensus on where BTC will finish Friday.

As Bitcoin moves during the week, those probabilities can shift with it, with the past seven days of activity reinforcing that.

## What to Watch

The biggest question is what happens after last week's rapid rally. Bitcoin enters Monday in the upper-$70,000s, but several trading days remain before Kalshi's Friday settlement.

Spot Bitcoin ETF demand will be worth watching. Inflows strengthened during the rally, providing another indication of whether buying interest extends beyond the short covering that helped accelerate the initial move.

The broader macro backdrop remains relevant as well. Bitcoin's rally developed alongside shifting expectations around Treasury yields, the dollar, and liquidity conditions. Those forces, plus any new economic or policy developments, could help determine where Bitcoin trades by the end of the week.
