- Description: Alabama is a commanding favorite in Saturday’s rematch, but Florida State already knows what it takes to overturn expectations against the Crimson Tide.

Florida State delivered one of the early surprises of last season when it beat Alabama 31–17 in Tallahassee. A year later, prediction markets expect a much different result.

The rematch shifts to Tuscaloosa with Alabama carrying a 91% chance of winning. The deeper markets set an even higher bar: the Crimson Tide are priced around the midpoint to win by more than 20 points.

## Quick Brief

Alabama enters Saturday 2–0 after opening with a 48–10 win over East Carolina and beating Kentucky 45–17 on the road. The latter required some work: Kentucky led 17–13 at halftime before Alabama scored 32 unanswered points after the break.

Florida State has had a more uneven start. The Seminoles beat New Mexico State 34–17 before falling 27–24 to SMU, despite 116 rushing yards from Ousmane Kromah. SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings threw for 430 yards as the Mustangs piled up 585 yards of offense.

Florida State pulled off the upset last August, but the Seminoles arrive in Tuscaloosa with only a 9% chance on Kalshi of doing it again.

## Trading on Florida State vs. Alabama

Alabama has already shown two different ways to create separation. The Crimson Tide rolled up 487 yards against East Carolina, then recovered from a difficult first half at Kentucky to turn a four-point halftime deficit into a 28-point win. Quarterback Keelon Russell has 444 passing yards through two games, while Daniel Hill leads the ground game with 151 yards.

Florida State’s best counter may again come on the ground. Kromah has opened the season with consecutive 100-yard rushing games, totaling 231 yards through two contests. Last season’s upset also featured 230 rushing yards from the Seminoles, giving Alabama a familiar problem to solve in the rematch.

## Other CFB prediction markets we’re watching Saturday

- **Georgia at Arkansas:** Georgia is a 95% favorite, with the Bulldogs priced at 52% to win by more than 24.5 points. No. 2 Georgia opened with two wins and put 70 points on Western Kentucky last week, while Arkansas returns home after a 43–10 loss at Utah. It’s also Georgia’s first SEC road game of the season; the Bulldogs are 10–0 in those games under Kirby Smart.
- **Kent State at Ohio State:** Ohio State is a 99% favorite, making the 52.5-point margin contract, priced at 49%, the more interesting benchmark. The Buckeyes return home after letting a 23–3 fourth-quarter lead slip away in a 24–23 loss at Texas, their first September defeat since 2021.
- **SMU at Louisville:** The closest market of this group has Louisville at 52% and SMU at 48%, with Louisville -1.5 priced at 49%. SMU is 2–0 after beating Florida State and UC Davis, while Louisville is 1–1 after a three-point opening loss to Ole Miss. The Mustangs are also 4–0 all-time against Louisville, including wins in each of the past two seasons.
- **UTEP at Michigan:** Michigan carries a 99% win probability, but the Wolverines are only 46% to clear a 35.5-point margin. Michigan is 2–0 after beating No. 11 Oklahoma 17–10\. The Wolverines' defense has allowed just 11 points per game entering the first-ever meeting between the programs.
- **Kentucky at Texas A&M:** Texas A&M is an 88% favorite in its SEC opener, with the Aggies priced at 47% to win by more than 17.5 points. No. 9 A&M has opened 2–0 with wins of 50–0 over Missouri State and 48–20 over Arizona State, while Kentucky gets another major test one week after its second-half collapse against Alabama.

## What to watch for

- **Can Florida State run the ball?** Kromah has topped 100 yards in both games, and the Seminoles’ rushing attack was central to last season’s upset.
- **How quickly does Alabama take control?** The first-half and first-touchdown markets both heavily favor the Crimson Tide, a notable contrast with last week’s slow start at Kentucky.
- **Is 20.5 points too high a bar?** Alabama winning is the market’s overwhelming expectation. Winning by three touchdowns is much closer to a coin flip.
- **Can Florida State generate enough offense?** The Seminoles managed 324 yards against SMU, including only 125 through the air. Their 14.5-point team total sits almost exactly at the market midpoint.
