Miami and Clemson are both unbeaten in ACC play, but the market sees a significant gap between them.

The fourth-ranked Hurricanes have dominated their first four opponents, while Clemson has recovered from a 41-point season-opening loss at LSU to win three straight. Saturday provides the Tigers with their biggest test since that opening-night defeat.

Quarterback Darian Mensah has been a big catalyst. He has thrown 14 touchdown passes against just 12 incompletions while completing an FBS-best 88.7% of his attempts.

Clemson enters 3-1 and 2-0 in conference play after consecutive wins over North Carolina and Cal. The Tigers have allowed just 12.3 points per game over their three-game winning streak after surrendering 51 to LSU in the opener.

## Miami has dominated on both sides

Miami's 4-0 start has been about more than Mensah.

The Hurricanes are averaging 53.5 points while allowing just 9.0, placing them among the top five nationally in both categories. Their defense has been particularly difficult to run against, allowing only 39.5 rushing yards per game and 1.9 yards per carry.

Miami's latest performance continued the trend. The Hurricanes beat Central Michigan 52-3 last week, their third win by at least 30 points in four games.

That dominance shows up deeper on the board. Miami has a 74% probability of leading at halftime and the same probability of scoring the game's first touchdown.

## Clemson has found a different formula

Clemson's response to its 51-10 loss at LSU has centered increasingly on defense and the running game.

The Tigers held Cal to just three offensive points in last week's 24-10 win, limiting a passing attack that entered the game averaging 321.7 yards to only 145\. Clemson has now held consecutive opponents below 150 passing yards.

Gideon Davidson has provided the offensive spark. The sophomore rushed for a career-high 159 yards and two touchdowns against Cal after producing 105 yards against North Carolina, giving him consecutive 100-yard games.

That creates one of Saturday's clearest strength-on-strength matchups: Clemson has rushed for at least 150 yards in three straight games, while Miami enters with the nation's stingiest run defense.

Freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds presents the other question. He's 2-0 since taking over as Clemson's starter, but Saturday brings a major step up against a Miami defense allowing only 224.5 total yards per game.

## What to Watch

- **Mensah's efficiency:** Fourteen touchdown passes against 12 incompletions is a remarkable opening month. Clemson's improving secondary presents his toughest test yet.
- **Davidson vs. Miami's run defense:** Davidson has consecutive 100-yard games; Miami is allowing only 39.5 rushing yards per game.
- **Clemson's defensive rebound:** The Tigers have allowed 12.3 points per game since LSU and just three offensive points last week.
- **Can Clemson make Miami play from behind?** The market gives the Hurricanes a 74% chance of both leading at halftime and scoring the first touchdown.
