Quick Brief

Oregon enters as the market favorite at 60%, but traders expect a tighter game than the headline price might suggest. The Ducks sit at just 48% to win by more than 3.5 points.

The scoring market is nearly even, with a 51% chance of more than 61.5 combined points. USC has scored at least 39 in each of its first four games, while Oregon is coming off an 84-0 win over Portland State.

Saturday also matches two of the Big Ten's most productive quarterbacks. USC's Jayden Maiava and Oregon's Dante Moore have combined for more than 2,000 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and just one interception.

Moore and Maiava put the passing games in focus

USC's Jayden Maiava enters Saturday with 1,173 passing yards, while Oregon's Dante Moore is coming off a four-touchdown first half against Portland State.

Maiava has helped USC score at least 39 points in every game this season, while Moore is coming off a four-touchdown first half in Oregon's 84-0 win over Portland State. Both quarterbacks have also protected the football. Maiava has thrown just one interception through four games, while Moore has yet to be picked in three starts.

The offenses have gotten there in different ways. King Miller leads USC with 338 rushing yards, while Kayden Dixon-Wyatt has a team-high 258 receiving yards. Oregon has spread the ball more widely, with four receivers already above 100 yards this season.

The receiving markets lean toward productive nights on both sides. Oregon is priced at 60% to reach 250 receiving yards and 66% to score at least two receiving touchdowns. USC isn't far behind at 58% and 63%, respectively.

Those prices fit a matchup featuring two productive quarterbacks, but Oregon will have to navigate at least one personnel concern. Wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan has been ruled out for Saturday's game.

Oregon has controlled the recent series

USC still owns the historical advantage, but the recent history belongs firmly to Oregon.

The Ducks have won four straight against the Trojans, six of the past seven, and eight of the past 10. That includes a 42-27 Oregon victory last season and wins in each of the Ducks' past two trips to Los Angeles.

Saturday also marks Oregon's first Big Ten game of the season. The Ducks went 9-0 in conference road games over their first two Big Ten seasons and haven't lost at the Coliseum since 2012.

USC arrives 4-0 and already owns a conference victory after beating Rutgers 42-35 last week. The Trojans produced 461 yards of offense in that game but allowed 35 points after surrendering only 56 across their first three games combined.

What to Watch

  • The 3.5-point line: Oregon has a clear edge in the winner market, but traders put a Ducks victory by more than 3.5 at only 48%.
  • The QB duel: Maiava and Moore have combined for 21 touchdown passes against just one interception.
  • USC's defense: The Trojans allowed 35 points at Rutgers after a much stronger defensive start to the season.
  • Recent history: Oregon has won four straight in the series, including its past two visits to the Coliseum.
